Background

After being raised in Kansas City, receiving an undergraduate business degree in Boulder, Colorado and working as a teacher in a small school for gifted children, I began five years of graduate work & post- graduate family therapy training in Seattle in 1990. Upon moving to Flagstaff in 2001, I found Northern Arizona to be a wonderful place to be near family, raise my two daughters and enjoy the rich natural beauty of the Colorado Plateau. My personal passions include my dance community, hiking, biking, writing and deepening my connection with the natural world.

My professional passion is for helping people of all ages develop tools to enable relationships to thrive. In particular, I seek to instill the capacity for insight and clarity of thought, emotional open-heartedness and non-reactivity, as well as grounding in physical presence and health. I believe that all humans have the capacity to create a balance that allows for optimal health. Discerning that balance, and cultivating the discipline and support we require is essential to mental health and well-being.

Clinical Perspective

Trained in Whole Systems Design, I believe that we all exist in a network of family, cultural, social and environmental connection, and therefore can best grow in the context of awareness of both self and other. Nationally licensed as a marital and family therapist since 1996, I have been compassionately providing a broad array of psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, adolescents and families. Serving the Flagstaff community as an Arizona licensed practitioner since 2001, I continue to seek excellent training, which allows me to deepen my skills and increase my knowledge of human experience and healing connection. Meditation, daily exercise and nutritious foods complement my approach to finding peace in the midst of a stressful and changing world.
